Few months ago I was in Arusha. I was with a friend, and
after a long day at work, we decided to go for a drink in a restaurant near us!
The restaurant was really nice, and was at the center of the town!
When we get there, I was so surprised to see very few people
getting the services! The location of the restaurant, the way it looks from
outside, the population of Arusha and The hours we went for a drink; did not
relate with the situation we found existing. Anyway I didn’t give it much of my
attention, because I had to take a drink and go back to the business.
We seated and wait for 10 minutes, no one came! 15 minutes,
and still no one came to ask what we need! So we went to the counter and complain!
“How comes we have been here for nearly 20 min and we are not attended!?” after
our complaints then one of the workers in that restaurant came and she just
asked, “What can I help?”! Guess what? We got tired twice as much as we were at
work! I just told my friend “let’s get out of this place” and we left.

Another day I visited my co-worker, William (Bill) at his university.
So I went to a shop around the campus and asked a girl who was a shop keeper,
to get me a drink! She was seated outside the shop making some stories with
her friends, and she just told me “open the fridge and take it”! Before she
finished the sentence I was already gone!
I don’t know if you have ever been in any of these
situations? Am certain you have been in one of these situations or any other relating to these! Now if you ask them HOW IS THE BUSINESS?
They will say to you; BUSINESS IS HARD, NO CUSTOMERS! But, is it true? No it’s
not true! BUSINESS IS ABOUT HOSPITALITY. The way you handle your customers
determines the future of your business.
Be hospitable to the extent that, your
customer will choose you always, in favor of so many other business people of
the same product/service you are selling in the area.
Stop chatting or talking through the phone when a customer is waiting
for your service! Talk nicely to your customers, deliver a well packed freight
to your customer, and say a “WELCOME AGAIN” language to your customers and see if your business will remain hard!
If you ask big and successful business or companies, what is
the secret behind their success, they will tell you many; but among the
foremost will be HOSPITALITY.
BE GENEROUS AND IT WILL TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO INTERNATIONAL LEVELS.
