RAISING YOUR FAMILY BEYOND THE CHALLENGES OF GLOBALIZATION by Frazier Light

It’s a dream of every man to have a successful family and so is a woman. We have so many things that matters in our lives but I believe FAMILY is what matters the most.

There are so many challenges in life but I’m certain, raising a successful family is the most challenging thing.

The world is changing every now and then; our rearing modality and formality is affected by so many agents! The Internet, TVs, Neighbors and relatives, Schools and Universities, these are some of the main agents affecting and impact our lives as well as our children’s day after day!

You can imagine how challenging raising your children could be when all these agents are against your parenting style.

Definitely we need to have stronger influential ability to rise above these giants and achieve a dream of having a successful family. What does it take to have a successful Family? What matters when it comes to family? How to become an inspiration to your family? These are the questions you need to ask yourself when it comes to having a successful family. Let’s give the answers to the three questions we have asked ourselves:

1. What does it take to have a successful family?

Usually, what does it take to be successful? It takes a lot of course,including, Knowing what you can do, learn to do it in the best way, NEVER GIVE UP, Focus, Expose yourself and what you believe in, Good self-management, etc.

Now when it comes to family it takes the same principles! Know what kind of a family you want, BUT, make sure it will be acceptable and adaptable to all your family members. this is to considering their uniqueness, visions and potentials. Don’t be a dictator; don’t force your family to become what you want in the way you want! A family is not successful until it comes to a point of mutual consensus.

Learn to raise a family because nobody is born with the knowledge to raise family/kids!

How?

Expose yourself to knowledge and expose yourself to Change. knowledge that its not always what you say that rears your family but in most cases what you dont say. Last but not least, give the sense of self management to the members of your family; teach them until it becomes their life.

2. What matters when it comes to FAMILY?

Human beings are universal but unique. Family is a bound of LOVE that goes beyond differences. NEVER expect your wife/husband or/and children to be similar to you and to have the same priories to you!

We need to understand that, in spite of the differences, FAMILY SHOULD REMAIN FAMILY! Be there for each other even when it’s hard, stand for one another even when success seems impossible. This point is the most challenging part and most people fail and when you fail PEACE, LOVE, FAMILY HOOD, and UNITY departs.
Each member begins to live for him/herself! When it reaches this point, family is not a family anymore.

3. How to Become an INSPIRATION to your family?

If you are not an inspirational father/mother to your family, never expect other members of the family to hearken to your teachings and words! i.e unless you inspire them, it’s hard to listen to you for learning purposes!

Make sure the level that you are is the same level other members of the family wants to reach. Don’t force them to see you there while they see otherwise! If you want to inspire your family here is what you need to do:

LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY, SHOW TRUST IN/TO YOUR FAMILY- let them see that you trust them and you always expect the best out of them, MAKE THEM HAPPY-when you make your family happy, the chances are: to never let you down with all that you expect from them.
BE THEIR MENTOR- invest in yourself enough for them to seek an advice from you and seeing you the first before anybody else.

BEING a FATHER/MOTHER does not guarantee your success in raising a great family. It takes so much more to raise your family beyond the negative forces of our environment. You can be that parent whose kids hearken to his/her instructions and respect it, as much as finding a pleasure in following it!
Don’t teach your family to call you DADDY/MAMMY let them see that you ARE.

Family is not only about blood; but sticking together, stand for one another and listen to one another with unconditional love. Being a family is a process and like any other process, it takes TIME, COMMITMENT and PATIENCE.
